About the Writer

Emme is an online magazine dedicated to everything you care about: music, beauty, fashion, dating and staying fit and healthy.  This site is a fabulous one stop shop for young women looking for insights to make their lives that much more amazing.  Emme was founded by author/ journalist Maryann Pisano who wanted to jump start her own career by writing about what she thought other women her age would enjoy reading.  Enjoy!

About the founder/ writer-

Maryann Pisano is the creative author who has been writing since she was 3-years old and who knew from a very young age exactly what she wanted to do.  When she was a sophomore at East Leyden High School, she published her first novel, entitled The Decision in 2003 when she was just 15-years old.  From the publicity of the book, she has appeared in several local newspapers and had many book signings.  She was interviewed on college radio stations as well as WGN radio with Steve Cochran.  Pisano was awarded “Cochran’s Kid of the Week” and “Newspaper in Education” which is a campaign to encourage young children to read.  She currently has two other manuscripts finished that hopefully will be published in the future.  She has also been a stringer for CosmoGIRL! magazine and writes free lance for Fra Noi, Red Eye, Italian- America, Stumped, Elm Leaves and The Examiner.  Pisano was an editor for her college newspaper, The Dominican Star. She has recently graduated from Dominican University with a degree in journalism and a minor in English.  Besides writing she enjoys Italian culture, the summer, being with friends, and spending time with her family.
