emme: Why did you decide to go on The Bachelor?
Samantha Levey: I had recently broken up with my boyfriend and was asked to go on the show. It seemed like perfect timing, so I had a “you never know” attitude about it. I had to see where it would lead me.
emme: Describe your life pre-Bachelor. What was life like as Miss Pacific Palisades?
SL: Pre-bachelor had been filled with A LOT of pageant crap and work. It takes a lot of work to not look like a fool in Miss CA USA, such as learning to walk, move your arms, smile, do your own hair and makeup, silly things that make a difference. I attended a lot of local Pacific Palisades events as well as other local LA events. It was fun while it lasted but I wouldn’t do it again.
emme: Describe your relationship with Courtney.
SL: I didn’t really have a relationship with Courtney. I actually thought she was alright. She did some annoying things like talk about herself a lot, but really she wasn’t around that much. I didn’t like when she made jabs at Kacie B, since I was closest to her, and I felt very protective over [her].
emme: Do you like the way you were portrayed on TV?
SL: I have no problems with how I was portrayed on TV. It could have been a lot worse, I’m sure. The only thing I didn’t really love was how they made my exit interview all about Ben. [In reality,] I was upset over saying bye to the girls. It is kind of like summer camp. But I guess that’s what they have to do!
emme: Does a hair/nail/ makeup artist do your hair before filming?
SL: You can have hair and makeup done before night one. After that it’s allllll on you to do it. We all know how to do hair and makeup for the most part. If you don’t know how to do hair and makeup by the time you’re in your 20’s, there are some issues there.
emme: How has your family and friends reacted to you since you’ve appeared on the show?
SL: My family and friends have loved it. Most people know how funny I am, and are used to my sense of humor… so they enjoyed watching.
emme: What are your future endeavors?
SL: Right now I am just taking [life] one day at a time! I have a new amazing job at a well known ad agency in LA, and I am back with my ex-bf. LOL. And I LOVE having the new Bachelor family.
emme: How has this show changed you?
SL: It hasn’t. lol. I’m still the same person, just more people get to love me or hate me. But, whatever.
emme: What advice would you give other girls who want to do reality television?
SL: I say do it. It is a crazy experience. Know that people will make fun of you or try to break you no matter what. So just have fun with it and f*ck ’em!
emme: What reality shows do you enjoy watching?
I hate reality TV! I watch Mad Men, American Horror Story, Walking Dead and all of Comedy Central.
