In a recent interview with Jimmy Fallon, Michelle Obama called young people “knuckleheads” when referring to ObamaCare. “Thanks to the Affordable Care Act, young people can stay on their parent’s insurance until they’re 26, but once they hit 26, they’re on their own.” Today, millennials have a bad stereotype that follows us. Watching an episode of Girls kind of captures that. Supposedly, we’re totally clueless, lost, trying to “find” ourselves over Starbucks while Tweeting and Instagraming.
But, life is not like an episode of Girls. Real life is real life. We don’t always have our girlfriends there for us. We don’t “find” ourselves over Starbucks. We don’t live on social media. Most young people I know have been busting their asses since graduating college. They are taking any job that’s available in order to get by. With the society that this administration has provided for us, what else can we do? I think Mrs. Obama should speak for herself when calling young people “knuckleheads,” because most young people I know are struggling to pay our bills and TRYING to become adults. I don’t know any young adults in my generation sitting idle.
WHAT DO YOU THINK?

I’m glad i’m not a 20-something right now … I can’t imagine trying to
“make it ” in this social and economic environment. Good for you for pointing this out.
