People say that the Easter bunny first was introduced to America in the 1700s with German immigrants. These immigrants settled in Pennsylvania. They had an egg-laying hare called “Osterhase” or “Oschter Haws,” who would would lay colored eggs in colorful nests. This tradition spread across the United States. The rabbits deliveries expanded to chocolate, candy, gifts, to colored baskets. Kids would then leave carrots out for the bunny.
