Are you dreaming of a white Christmas this year? You might be disappointed. According to forecast models, the Chicagoland area may have some precipitation on Christmas Eve, but this is predicted to be just in the form of rain due to the warmer temperatures.
According to the National Weather Service, the latest first measured snowfall of the season in Chicago was recorded Dec. 20, 2012. Since the Chicagoland area has surpassed this date, we have broken a record for going the longest without snowfall.
Forecast models also predict that snow might not come to the Chicago area until 2022.
